dc.description.abstract Professor Eddah Gachukia MBS is well-known for her dedication to female education and female empowerment. She co-founded the Forum for African Women Educationists (FAWE) alongside African women education ministers in order to influence national policies on education for girls and women throughout the continent. Prof. Eddah also served as a vice-chair for Maendeleo ya Wanawake. Eddah was nominated to parliament in 1974, joining Grace Onyango and Jemima Gichaga as the only women in parliament at the time. She was nominated again between 1979 and 1984. She advocated in parliament for women's rights to family planning and child spacing. Throughout the review process, she was a member of the women's negotiating team. She was one of the women who formed the Affirmative Action political wing. Congratulations to our Cucu on being named a distinguished woman and Trailblazer by the Ministry of Public Service, Gender, Senior Citizens Affairs, and Special Programmes. en_US
