dc.description.abstract The Etisalat Prize for Literature celebrates new African writers. Now in its fourth year, it is acknowledged as the most prestigious literary prize for African fiction. The shortlisted authors who visited the university are: 1. Jacqui L’Ange (South Africa) The Seed Thief (Umuzi Publishers, South Africa); 2. Jowhor Ile (Nigeria) And After Many Days (Kachifo Limited, Nigeria); 3. Julie Iromuanya (Nigeria) Mr &Mrs Doctor (Coffee House Press, USA). The Etisalat Prize for Literature is unique in that it also aims to promote the publishing industry by purchasing 1000 copies of all shortlisted books for distribution to schools, book clubs and libraries across the African continent.
