Abstract:
Annual IEEE Symposium held on Friday 24th to Saturday 25th August 2018 at the Riara University where selected Engineering/Technical student groups exhibited part of their ongoing research and entrepreneurial works to the attendees.
Students were invited from all technical institutions in Kenya to register their projects for exhibition and presentation. The best projects had the presenters showcase their projects during a panel session at the event.
Objectives
* Students to identify pressing problems across Kenya and the world, and develop unique engineering solutions to those problems.
* Students to learn how to ideate, iterate and rapidly prototype their next big ideas with the help of mentors and select judges.
* To link experts/professionals to support student ideas with promising potential.
Projects falling under Manufacturing, Construction (Housing), Health, and Food Security were highly encouraged. Projects outside these areas addressed critical elements of the theme were accepted.
Students in their final year in the various Technical disciplines were highly encouraged to participate as it was an opportunity to interact with the industry professionals, as their potential employers and investors. They were also allowed to present their final year projects.
