Abstract:
This paper explores the different challenges faced by farmers who plants crops in Kenya as they try to access advisory content on the internet. Most platforms they offer limited access to resources that sometimes are not useful enough by the farmers
This system will help farmers who grows crops to know information they are supposed to apply to their crops. Here they can interact with the agriculture experts without paying any fee unlike going to the agricultural centers to get information about their crops. The administrator will view different information which the farmers can view. In addition, people who don’t plant crops can also access the system and get to know the useful information about crops.
Information is one of the most important things that helps reduce the risk of crop diseases. It is more efficient for farmers to access information online which can save on both money and time. are able to access the diet online without having to access the system then they will save on money. During the research, a number of challenges were experienced, many agricultural centers were not accessible due to very diverse and strict rules of carrying out the research. In this project, I used a questionnaire to collect data from the farmers. After carrying out the analysis, 75% of the respondents, need the system to be fully implemented so that farmers don’t need to go to the agricultural centers anymore and to see an expert. Hence at any time of the day the farmers can access the system and get information. Crop diseases are the leading cause of unhealthy crops in Kenya, with information advice this system will help reduce the risk of crops being unhealthy.
Based on the results, this study concluded that most crop farmers would prefer this system.
One of the reasons was the crop farmers will save on transport and consultation fee. If the information advice is online, the farmers will not need to go for consultation, because not everyone can afford to pay the agriculture expert. Also, not only crop farmers but also other farmers can learn from the system and this will save crops since a healthy crop reduces the risk of getting crops without rich nutrients. Many respondents recommended this system and according to the questionnaire. The problem statement is based on various challenges faced by crop farmers as they try and access various systems that have the relevant content related to them. These challenges include:
Inaccessibility of advisory content, lack of best platform for crop farmers, there is no close interaction with agriculture experts
